Matt Maran

Matt has been photographing and filming wildlife for more than 20 years.
 
As well as filming wildlife for broadcast platforms such as the BBC, Matt works with commercial and non-profit organisations to showcase conservation efforts taking place on their land in the form of books and video.
 
In 2017, he created a short film showcasing the work of the Kenya Youth Business Trust Mombasa (KYBTM) and in 2020 filmed and produced a short documentary in partnership with Fauna & Flora International Vietnam and the Vietnamese NGO GreenViet about the country’s endangered primates.
 
Matt’s photography has been published in The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, BBC Wildlife and National Geographic Magazines. He has also published three books under his own imprint, Hemisphere Publishing.

His images have also featured in competitions such as Wildlife Photographer of the Year, European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Montphoto and the British Wildlife Photography Awards.

Following his major book project on London’s Hampstead Heath, Matt’s fine art panoramic photography of Hampstead Heath is represented by Catto Gallery. More recently, his work documenting urban foxes has resulted in media attention in print, online and on-air.

 
His film and photography work is represented by Nature Picture Library an he is a regular contributor to online, TV and radio broadcasts, including Springwatch, London Live and BBC News.
 
Running private and group workshops, Matt helps people to engage with nature through photography.
